Who We Are

Karo’s passion for holistic healing has developed during her time as a competitive Track & Field athlete. Random symptoms, illnesses as well as injuries needed to be addressed more effectively and efficiently as she tried to stay healthy and become more resistant physically. Fascinated by the positive results of receiving Applied Kinesiology (AK), she always turned to a more preventive approach to optimize performance and avoid injuries.

Karo competed in Track & Field for over 20 years and finished a stellar career with 6 All-American honors, 2009 NCAA runner-up in the long jump, national and school record holder, Olympic qualifier, and 2015 SDSU Hall of Fame Inductee. Since her athletic retirement in 2017, she has transitioned into coaching and shared her experience as jumps and sprints coach with Youth, High School, Junior College, and Division I athletes.

During her athletic career, Karo graduated from San Diego State University with a bachelor’s degree in Economics. Her desire to continue in the field of behavioral health led her to complete a master’s degree in Health Education and, later, become a certified Health Education Specialist (CHES), certified Massage Therapist (CMT), and (applied) Kinesiologist.

In 2023, she founded EnerChi Roots to offer true healing to her community and beyond. Karo’s desire is to provide alternatives to western medicine for everyone to regain control over their health and step out of the shadow of the pharmaceutical industry and symptom masking. We are born healthy and pure until we get tangled up within our unhealthy environment; let Karo support your journey back to your healthy roots!
